My Stories

I write adventures for those in search of a good story. My novels fall in the Fantasy genre, but many people consider them Sci-fi too. Each story is written with what I look for when I read a book: action, adventure, twists and turns, love, heroes, vicious enemies, fighting (weapons and hand to hand combat). I write because I want to share the stories that are inside of me. I hope you enjoy the adventures as much as I love writing them!

A little different

I changed things around a little.

Now at the top you can read a chapter to my books.

To the left is still the cover art, below that are different ways you can follow this blog: email, RSS feed, and/or signing up with Google to follow this blog.

On the right is where you can find my links to my Ebooks, my paperbacks, information about if (your curious or want to shoot me a message you can also find my email address), my books at Smashwords (because they deserve a special place on my blog since they gave me the opportunity and help I needed to share my stories with you), a link to my facebook page, twitter, blog archive, a way to share my post with others, and books I've read.

I hope you enjoy the brighter look.  If you have any ideas - things you'd like to see on my blog - let me know I'm always open to opinions!

Story 13 maunscript

Printed my first manuscript for Story 13.  I'm going to put it a side for a couple of days, let it linger in my thoughts before I read it.  No, it's not done, but it is close.  I mean it is done in the context that it has a beginning, middle, and end.   However there is still more to the story that needs to be added and I have to move some things around.  (I keep telling my boys they need to invent the Ironman computer - Jarvis - so I can look at multiple pages in front of me and shift things around or edit them out with my fingers.  They smile and I know they're wondering just what it would take to make that computer real.) For now though I just print it.  It's easier for me to look at it in hardcopy.  I can circle things and write down where I want to move it and easily flip back and forth between where I have one thing at and where I think I want it.  Plus my brain sees it in a different light and I will expand on what I've already written.  Right now it is 58,600 words.  It only needs 1,400 more words and it will "officially" become a novel.  I am not the least bit worried about it not being long enough.  Because I already know that there is a lot of things I want to add to it.  In fact, I had to cut myself off today because as I continued to write I realized that I was starting a second book for this book.  So I'm curious to see how all of this goes!    Now, I realize I've just made more work for myself.  I was thinking that I was only writing my ideas down, but now it's a book.  I still want to get my Dragon book(s) finished, clean up the adult book, work on my not ebook book, put some time into a couple of other books that keep poking out in my mind, and - luckily- story 11 is still in the hands of my editors.  Oh well, one day I might just catch up to all the stories I am working on, but somehow I think that is a long shot.  Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining.  I love writing, dreaming, and getting lost in each world and character that I create.  I would be really sad if I had nothing to work on.  Now, with that being said, back to work!

More on story 13!

I started story 13 just 11 days ago.  And although it isn't finished, it is at 50,000 words.  What has me even more proud of myself is that I haven't printed off a manuscript to proof and expand on the story yet!  Of course I plan on doing that soon, but still I'm pretty impressed with what I have accomplished!  Thank you "StrangledHold" by Ted Nugent!!   Here's the song if you are unfamiliar:

It's not the words of the song, it's the music.  I love that I can see a particular scene every time I hear this song!  It never ceases to amaze me how music can bring ideas to life.    Enjoy the music!

Story 13?!

I knew I wanted to start another book, because I had several ideas.  However, I wasn't trying to put anything together because I want to get the dragon books done.  Be that as it may be, things never go as I plan.   I was in my car last week and the Ted Nugent song "StrangleHold" starts playing.  I love the guitar rifts in that song!  I'd be okay if there wasn't any singing in it at all!  It's pretty awesome.  Anyways, the next thing I know a scene for my next book (Story 13) flows through my mind.  I fought off writing it, trying to focus on the dragon book, but this story continued to unfurl.  (And I heard the song on the radio two more times, each time the scene played out with a little more detail.)  What do I mean by unfurl?  I mean in less than 24 hours I had written 16,000 words (approx. 30 pages, 12pt, new times roman, single spaced), and I haven't even got to the scene that I cannot wait to write.  It probably will take a bit longer to finish the story though, because when I get enough of it out of my mind, I'll be going back to The Shadow Dragon series.  Sometimes I wish I typed faster, or there were more hours in the day that I could write.
